Hello Friends! Happy Belated Mother's Day ! I hope all the mommas had a wonderful weekend. We have had a wild few days around here, hence the belated wishes. From bread baking ( more on that in a minute ) to large splinters it had definitely been something for the books. Things are calming down today and I'm very ready for it. The kids and I are going to be heading out to work with animals and new garden beds. It's that time of year where we have a list that is much longer than our days, but that's alright because it will be cold and snowy again before we know it. I cannot wait to show you guys the new 200 ft flower bed we are working on. I'm so excited about this new growing space . Last week was our first pre-order for breads and bagels. The support we have starting this new adventure has been wonderful. We are truly thankful for our community and look forward to serving you. This weeks pre- order closes TODAY at 8pm and pickup will be Friday at our home. If you are local and would like more info, feel free to respond to this email and I'll do my best to answer any questions. https://www.hotplate.com/brinkerfamilyfarm I also wanted to remind you that we have pre-orders open for our "Save the Small farm" t-shirts is open until Friday. May 15th. We truly feel blessed with a community that is so supportive as we learn and grow something beautiful. Each shirt sale is going to help us add to our chute system so we can safely and efficiently work our herd. Here is an article I wrote sharing more about importance of a good chute system . We hope you all have a wonderful week! Until Next Time, Grow Something Beautiful Bo, Julie and Family "Raising beef from our farm to your table and educating on the simple things." Hello Friends, August has been a pretty wet one around here. In the last 8 days we have had over 5 inches of rain, with 1.7 inches last night. As I write this I'm watching it rain again. We have been busy with bottle calves (that story is in the newsletter below), along with helping some neighbors with their chores. Bo is off work until Thanksgiving as he recovers from bicep surgery in June. We are truly enjoying our extra time with our favorite guy ❤️. As the month continues on we will be...
Hello Friends, 👋 It's hard to believe we are at the end of July. Summer never feels long enough for me. I just start to get into a groove and then I notice some change of color to a few trees, a coolness to the air and the sun is not waking us as early. Tis the cycle of seasons. This ever changing feeling comes in many forms, from the change of seasons, to the changes in our children (bless their heart, growing up can be hard), a momma needs to always remember to watch the gate. Last week was...
Hello Friends, Happy 4th of July 🎇 I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend celebrating our countries 250th Independence Day. Bo has been busily baling hay and is almost finished. Once that's done we will be right into fair week then it will feel like we can relax and enjoy summer. The kids and I have been planting seeds into little pockets of the garden and flower beds. Next up we will be resetting the hoop house. Most of our spring crops are done now, I have a few red beets I'm letting...
